Announces Significant High Grade Gold and Silver Results at the Mt Kare Gold/Silver Project, PNG
Sydney, Dec 12, 2012 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Additional significant high grade gold and silver drill hole results have been received from Indochine Mining's (
ASX:IDC) Mt Kare gold/silver project in Papua New Guinea (PNG), for:
Drillhole 154SD12
11 metres (m) at 6.0 grams/tonne (g/t) gold, 54 g/t silver from 21m depth downhole, including
- 4 m at 13.2 g/t gold, 76 g/t silver from 28 m downhole and
12 m at 5.0 g/t gold, 36 g/t silver from 34 m downhole and
15 m at 6.1 g/t gold, 42 g/t silver from 49 m downhole, including
- 8 m at 10.2 g/t gold, 68 g/t silver from 51 m down hole, within the BZ Zone.
"The assay results from drillhole 154SD12 complement the high grade results reported for 146SD12, 147SD12, 149SD12 and 150SD12 that confirm the high grade gold/silver mineralisation extends from surface in the BZ Zone at Mt Kare" said the CEO Stephen Promnitz. These recent previous results included 12m at 8 g/t gold, 38m @ 21 g/t gold, 30m at 4g/t gold, 9m at 9 g/t gold and 42m at 5 g/t gold respectively.
A drill program commenced in December to define the extent of bonanza grade Quartz Roscoelite mineralisation encountered in the BZ Zone around drillhole 122SD11. High grade zones of this type are the focus of ongoing work being conducted by Indochine, to grow the project resource and evaluate the 'bonanza' zones identified in a recent exploration review conducted by a consultant with considerable experience at the adjacent world-class Porgera Mine.
Results from a further 21 drillholes are pending and are expected to be released by the end of January.
