Perth, Aug 15, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Central Petroleum Limited (ASX:CTP)(PINK:CPTLF) wishes to announce that effective 18 August 2008, Mr Bernard Crawford will be appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary.

Mr Crawford has over 20 years experience in the resources industry where he has held various positions in finance and management with NYSE, TSX and ASX listed companies including Arco, Barrick Gold and Clough Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, a Master of Business Administration degree from London Business School and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Mr Crawford replaces Mr Mark Di Silvio who was appointed CFO in September 2007 and is taking up a new appointment overseas.
