Heijmans NV (AMS:HEIJM) 's-Hertogenbosch - Heijmans has made a number of strategic decisions and identified a number of policy spearheads designed to bring the company on track in terms of realizing its Full Potential.

Strategically, the company's focus will be on the Dutch market and the three core activities in which Heijmans has acquired a strong position:

* Property development (regional development, project development and residential housing development-plus); * High-grade non-residential development and installation techniques; * Infrastructure (roads, construction of concrete works and hydraulic engineering, various specialized activities);

Growth targets will not be pursued in Belgium and Germany, with the exception of large and complex infrastructure projects, whereby Heijmans is able to make a contribution on the basis of its expertise. Heijmans' strong niche market position in the UK will continue to be nurtured.

Policy spearheads for the future will be as follows:

* Streamlining of the organization; * Proactive management of capital employed; * Margin ahead of volume; * 'Sweat out' loss-making projects and limit damages; * Heavy emphasis on risk and project management.

Plans to streamline the organization will be worked out and prepared during the coming months and will focus on shorter lines of communication and lower overhead.

Recent changes in the planned and actual composition of the Executive Board and the appointment of two concern directors constitute the first steps towards greater decisiveness and better results.
