Sydney, Nov 9, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - iSOFT Group Limited (ASX:ISF) today announced the success of the inaugural meeting of its Medical Advisory Board (iMAB), which took place in England on 23 October.

Led by iSOFT Chief Medical Officer Dr. Michael Dahlweid, iMAB will meet at least twice a year and consist of prominent and independent thought leaders in each of iSOFT's major geographies. Each member is an active clinician and a recognized driver of technology innovation.

iMAB plays a critical role in guiding iSOFT's innovation programme as it seeks to inform the Board on the effectiveness of the company's strategy, the relevance of new technologies, as well as future healthcare trends in general. Its main goal is to guide the innovation of iSOFT solutions for the benefit of patients and healthcare professionals, and ensure the company's products and services are supported by evidence of their relevance, future orientation, safety, clinical and cost effectiveness.

The inaugural iMAB was held at The Grove hotel in Hertfordshire immediately following iSOFT's `Ideaworks for Healthcare' innovation symposium at the same venue from 21 - 23 October. Together, the events boosted iSOFT's reputation as a leading generator of ideas in healthcare technology.

- Dr Glyn Hayes (U.K), Secretary General of The European Institute for Health Records, and President, of the U.K Council for Health Infomatics Professions.

- Prof. Ricky Richardson (U.K), Consultant Paediatrician & Physician, Department of Psychological Medicine and Harris International & Private patients Centre, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust, U.K. He is also Visiting Professor of eHealth at Imperial College.

- Prof. Jeronimo Farre (Spain), Chairman, Department of Cardiology at Fundacion Jimenez Diaz, Madrid; Professor of Cardiology, Madrid Autonomous University

- Dr. Nick Buckmaster (Australia), General and Thoracic Physician at the Gold Coast Hospital, QL, and Clinical Advisor for the Queensland eHealth Program.

- Prof. Axel Ekkernkamp (Germany), Chairman and Managing Director at a major level one trauma centre, Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin. He is also chair head of department for trauma and reconstructive surgery, accident and emergency unit and department of physical rehabilitation and sport rehabilitation, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-University-Hospital, Greifswald and the President of the German Trauma Society.

- Prof. Bastian de Mol (Netherlands), Chairman at the department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam. He also holds a chair at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology.
