Sydney, June 5, 2007 AEST (ABN Newswire) - IBA Health Limited (ASX: IBA) - Australia's largest listed eHealth company today announced IBA's regional implementation team in the South African Province of Limpopo has completed the initial implementation of IBA's health information technology in 30 of Limpopo's regional and district hospitals.

Phase One of the project, completed in 90 days, delivered the infrastructure to support the core systems and the implementation of administrative systems which will provide the backbone for the creation of a province wide, patient based electronic record.

Working closely with local partner staff, from the Province of Limpopo, the team has deployed over 70 application and data base servers, created over 30 test, training and production environments, migrated data from the existing legacy system and trained regional and district staff from the hospitals.

The $9.25 million 41 hospital licence, service and maintenance agreement contract follows an extensive evaluation of over ten international and local software organizations for the delivery and implementation of a system capable of tracking and recording patient information across the different levels of care throughout the Province of Limpopo.

South Africa has nine provinces and a population of 49 million people with Limpopo being the third largest with a population of 5.6 million. IBA has implementations in two other major provinces Gauteng, covering Johannesburg and Pretoria, and KwaZulu Natal covering Durban.

Steve Garrington CEO of IBA Health said, "Implementation of the infrastructure and core administrative systems required for 30 hospitals in 90 days is a remarkable effort. We have proven yet again the flexibility of our technology the skills of our staff and our capacity to localise and rapidly deploy our systems.

"The result achieved in Limpopo is reinforced by similar results in the UAE and Malaysia where we are implementing multi hospital, multi clinic projects. Results like this further strengthens our ability to sell into the developing health markets that are embracing scalable and modular regional health information systems", concluded Mr Garrington.
