Alberta, Sep 18, 2013 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Ironstone Resources Ltd., a private Alberta-based minerals exploration and development company, is focused on commercial development of its iron and vanadium polymetallic deposit in Clear Hills, Alberta, situated approximately 500kms northwest of Edmonton.
The project features a large 557mt compliant resource, excellent infrastructure, and short shipping times to Asian markets.
New process technology has been developed with Hatch to commercialize not only this deposit, but similar deposits worldwide. The Clear Hills iron and vanadium deposit represents one of Canada's premier undeveloped mineral assets.

The Clear Hills, Alberta iron and vanadium project area encompasses 190,000 hectares of permits and leases in one of the world's best mining jurisdictions. Ironstone has diamond cored 230 holes in several drilling programs, and has brought the deposit into NI 43-101 compliance.
SRK Consulting (Canada) Ltd. has reported indicated resources of 557mt with an average grade of 33% Fe and 0.20% V2O5 in its technical resource report of July 2012. The Clear Hills represents one of the largest compliant resources of vanadium pentoxide in the world (2.45 billion pounds).
Annual production of 2.5 million tonnes high-value hot briquetted iron will be sold to the alternative iron unit and scrap metal markets for use in steelmaking, with vanadium pentoxide targeted to the emerging battery storage market.
Ironstone, in conjunction with HATCH, has developed an enhanced direct reduced iron and segregation technology, originally developed on a lab scale by the Alberta Research Council, for beneficiating ubiquitous oolitic ironstones into iron metallics and extracting by-products such as vanadium pentoxide and other economic minerals.

Barry Caplan - President & CEO
Barry has accumulated over 30 years of experience in resource exploration and development after graduating McGill University with a Geology degree. Barry served as a geologist in both mining and petroleum, leading multi-disciplinary teams from conceptual development through commercialization.
James Masleck - CFO
Jim has over 30 years of financial management, strategic planning, budgeting, project economics, investment capital sourcing and investor relations experience with Exxon Chemicals, Gulf Canada Resources, Dundee Securities and several consulting firms. Jim has held board positions with several publicly traded companies including Gossan Resources, a Canadian-based mining company.
Mika Husband - VP Corp. Development
Mika joined Ironstone in 2013 after working in investment banking at Stifel Nicolaus Canada Inc. in Calgary, Alberta. He has a degree in Economics from Carleton University in Ottawa and has been a charterholder of the CFA Institute since 2005.
