Welcomes CSIRO Climate Report

Perth, Mar 14, 2012 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (googlechartASX:ERJ) has welcomed a CSIRO Climate Change Report, which shows the average Australian mean temperature has risen 0.7 degrees since 1960.

Former Howard Government Minister and Enerji chairman Ian Campbell said the "State of the Climate" snapshot released this morning underpins the need for improved energy solutions capable of reducing carbon emissions.

"Here we have high caliber CSIRO scientists advising maximum temperatures have increased every decade for the past 50 years," he said.

"It is imperative companies and individuals act on this report. For its part, Enerji is committed to developing climate-friendly energy solutions."

Enerji is set to install its first Australian Opcon Powerbox at the Carnarvon Power Station in Western Australia.

The device, developed in Sweden, enables the conversion of waste heat to energy and is capable of generating power with up to 15% fewer carbon emissions. The first Opcon Powerbox will supply an estimated 300 households and businesses.

The technology is already used at several Swedish paper mill plants. Mr Campbell said the company was currently in discussion with several Australian mining companies seeking to be more energy efficient and was confident further Opcon Powerboxes would be rolled out in Australia later this year.

Installation of Australia's first Opcon Powerbox is expected to be completed by the end of this month or early April.
