Mineral Explorer Barker Minerals (CVE:BML) to Exhibit at PDAC 2012 Booth #2446

Toronto, Feb 16, 2012 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Barker Mineral's (googlechartCVE:BML) approximate 430,000 acres of 100% owned, mostly contiguous mineral properties are located in the Cariboo Mining District of British Columbia, Canada, approximately 180 km south of Prince George or 80 km northeast of Williams Lake or 620 km north east of Vancouver. The Cariboo Gold District is one of the most mineralized belts in British Columbia. Barker's claims host excellent access and infrastructure making year round drilling possible.

In 2008 and 2009 the Geological Survey of Canada completed an Electromagnetic (EM) and Magnetic Airborne Survey (The Cariboo Lake EM/Mag Survey) which identified significant results over Barker's gold, diamond and VMS project areas. The fully funded survey was supported by Natural Resources Canada through the Mountain Pine Beetle Program and it greatly increased our understanding of the most economically prospective rocks in British Columbia and of the best tools to explore them.

Four of our Twenty-six exploration properties have permits in place, some with planned drilling programs for 2012 as financing conditions permit. Eight projects have drill-ready gold and/or massive sulphide targets. Focused programs are planned to further the significant discoveries of mineralization on the Company's Frank Creek polymetallic VMS, the Black Bear Silver and the Kangaroo Gold projects. In September of 2011 Barker purchased a new diamond drill to begin testing the large inventory of near surface drill targets defined through past exploration programs. Assay results are pending from small drill programs (2011) on the Frank Creek VMS and the Black Bear Silver Projects. Drilling is to begin on the Mag Gold project within the next several weeks. We are at the stage of developing our projects through possible joint ventures (JV) and/or the creation of subsidiary companies according to different commodities.

For many years we have collected our trading and settlement data which is provided by the Transfer Agent, Computershare and use a formula which clearly indicates patterns of manipulation through illegal failures to deliver (FTD). In October of 2010, Barker hired Dr. Susanne Trimbath, PhD of STP Advisory Services, LLC (STP), independent expert consultant, to study the Company's conclusion that there was/is illegal manipulation in its share market. Dr. Trimbath was a former operations manager for depository trust and clearing corporations in San Francisco and New York. Since 2003, STP has provided support, primarily in securities litigation, to law firms, investors companies and regulators. As a result of reviewing our trading and settlement data she confirmed multiple instances where Stockwatch reported stock sales at the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) that far exceeded the net delivery of shares for settlement through the Canadian Depository System (CDS). Following her confirmation we provided our findings to the Securities Regulators which we continue to do. Dr Trimbath concluded that, she doesn't "often see a Company that has put as much effort into understanding and documenting what happened to them in the capital markets as they do into running their business. You score high on both counts!"

We have a strong share holder base with over 60% of our shares held in certificate form and receive excellent AGM shareholder support with between 60% and 65% of our shareholders exercising their voting privileges. Attendance at the PDAC is a must as over the years we have made important contacts which we continue to nurture. We invite you to visit us at booth #2446 to see our graphics and an extensive and rare display of mineralized samples from many of our projects.
