Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) Makes Inaugural Heat Exchanger Sale

Perth, Sep 21, 2011 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Enerji Limited (googlechartASX:ERJ) is pleased to announce that it has sold its first Airec heat exchanger as a component of a waste heat recovery system involving a reciprocating engine.

The Airec Cross 30 heat exchanger will be fitted to the exhaust system of a stationary reciprocating engine at a metropolitan Perth public hospital. The captured heat will be used to heat water which, in turn, will be used in an absorption chiller to provide cooling to the hospital. The Airec heat exchanger was selected as part of a larger system in a competitive tender process. It gave the tenderer an edge due to its innovative design that results in it being less expensive, more compact, lighter and more efficient than its competitors.

Enerji has several Airec Cross 30 plate heat exchangers on order for the Horizon Power Carnarvon project but this is the first sale it has made to an external party under its distribution agreement with Airec AB of Sweden. Enerji has the exclusive distribution rights in Australia and New Zealand for a number of Airec's industry leading heat exchanger products including the Cross 30.

Enerji CEO, Greg Pennefather, was very pleased with this first sale seeing it as a validation of the Company's equipment selection for its own waste heat recovery solutions. "I believe we will see an increasing desire to capture low grade waste heat in Australia and put it to good use" Mr Pennefather said. "This should see an expanding sales market for our Airec heat exchanger range in applications where an Opcon Powerbox is not applicable and confirms our vision of strong demand for Powerboxes where they are" Mr Pennefather added.

Airec (www.airec.se) has focused its sales in Northern Europe having sold systems in Sweden, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Italy, China and Korea. Sales of these heat exchangers have been growing year over year as businesses increasingly look to capture waste heat and put it to good use in combined heat and power (CHP) systems. Airec expects to sell around 900 of these units alone this year. Pictures of the internal components of the Cross 30 units are provided below.

Enerji expects Australia to follow Europe's lead in the use of this type of heat exchanger to increase system efficiency.

Early estimates put the market to be well in excess of 1,000 units. The Company is convinced that sales of Airec heat exchangers for waste heat recovery systems (not involving Opcon Powerboxes) is perfectly aligned with its recovered energy business.
