Perth, April 18, 2011 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Peak Resources Limited (googlechartASX:PEK) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Kibuta Ongwamuhana as a director of the Peak Resources Limited's Tanzanian subsidiary, Peak Resources Tanzania Limited, and his appointment as Principal Adviser to the Board of Peak Resources on Tanzanian matters.

Dr Kibuta was born in Tanzania on 24th December 1953. He has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Dar es Salaam, a Master of Laws degree (taxation) from the University of Manchester, a Master of Laws degree (international taxation) from the University of Adelaide and a PhD from the University of Cape Town. Dr Kibuta is the Managing Partner of Ako Law, a premier commercial law firm in Tanzania. He practices mostly in tax dispute resolution and tax litigation. He is also a corporate lawyer who has both academic and practical experience. Formerly the President of the Law Society in Tanzania, Dr Kibuta also served as Commissioner of Taxation in Papua New Guinea. As an academician he has taught at Universities in Tanzania, Australia and Papua New Guinea. Dr Kibuta has previously authored the book "The Taxation of Income from Foreign Investments" (Kluwer 1991), and is about to publish another on Voluntary Taxpayer Compliance. Chambers Global describes Dr Kibuta as being "without question the top guy in tax" in Tanzania, and IFLR recognizes him as a "leading lawyer".

Dr Kibuta's long-time involvement in legal practice has enabled him to gain a deep understanding of the business environment in Tanzania and to establish valuable contacts in government as well as the public sector. Dr Kibuta is ideally placed to provide input and guidance to the Peak Group on its management of Tanzanian legal and administrative affairs and on the integration of Peak Resources within Tanzania.

The addition of Dr Kibuta to the Peak Resources management group will provide the group with additional insight and senior level guidance on Tanzanian matters that is becoming increasingly vital as development of the Company's Tanzanian asset base continues.
