iSOFT Group Limited (ASX:ISF) Delivers State-Wide System Under The HealthSMART Program In Victoria

Sydney, July 7, 2010 AEST (ABN Newswire) - iSOFT Group Limited (ASX:ISF) has completed the roll-out of new patient management systems under the HealthSMART program in Victoria, marking its second state-wide implementation in Australia in weeks after Tasmania was completed on 16 June.

One of the most ambitious healthcare IT projects yet, HealthSMART is also possibly the largest in the southern hemisphere, covering 122 hospital sites. There are 80,000 registered users, with 15,000 concurrent users. iSOFT completed 33 major implementations in four years with 29 of these in the past two years. And seven million patient records were migrated from existing systems.

A key goal of HealthSMART is for the state's ten health agencies to have a common solution to improve the quality of public healthcare and treatment outcomes, while increasing efficiency.

iSOFT's Patient Management gives clinical staff across Victorian public hospitals access to up-to-date patient information to improve care and efficiency, avoid duplication, reduce risk, and cut the time spent collecting patient information. Business benefits include better resource scheduling and improved planning of future demand and costs.

iSOFT has delivered 23 different modules, including a master patient index, appointments, referrals, caseload management, waiting lists, theatres, A&E, patient document tracking, billing, financial management, and reporting.

The project was completed under a contract won in open tender in December 2005.

iSOFT completed the roll-out of a state-wide patient management system for all public hospitals in Tasmania on 16 June.
