Most developed economies today are looking for ways to support the safer delivery of healthcare and at the same time manage the growing complexities and costs of healthcare delivery. You've stated that LORENZO "breaks down barriers to critical clinical information, helping healthcare professionals to make faster, informed decisions." Where are the current barriers to the flow of clinical information and how does LORENZO address these?

Most hospitals today have systems that aren't able to share information outside the four walls of the hospital. Further, most don't have the clinical information systems to enable better and safer patient care. At the same time, many existing systems can't accommodate the variety and complexity of the different work practices employed by different departments and specialties. The silo nature of healthcare delivery is a major barrier to improving the quality of care.
There's a growing need for systems to integrate and enable connectivity across the different care settings but with most records saved in silos that don't share a common system, replacement and starting again is very costly and involves the loss of intellectual property (IP) built up over many years.
Because LORENZO is a service oriented solution, it's designed to allow users to retain their existing investments and their existing IP. LORENZO incorporates clinical knowledge in thousands of modules which means it's highly configurable and highly adaptable to many different types of clinical services. The modules can also be installed progressively. This means that LORENZO will be very affordable to implement and use and will at the same time give clinicians the tools to deliver safer and higher quality care.
LORENZO is designed to make relevant patient information available in a secure manner to those who need to have access to it.
