Sydney, Jan 29, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - IBA Health Group Limited (ASX: IBA) - Australia's largest listed specialist information technology company, today announced that iSOFT Germany has been awarded two contracts worth $1.2 million (€734,000) and has also signed two distribution agreements to increase its presence in key European markets.

The two licensing contracts comprise initial licences and services of $760,000 together with recurring licence fees with a 5 year value in excess of $470,000.

Christophorus-Kliniken GmbH in Dülmen will implement iSOFT's BusinessCentre and ClinicCentre applications for its three hospitals at Coesfeld, Dülmen, and Nottuln in a five-year deal. The Christophorus-Kliniken group already uses iSOFT's solutions for financial accounting, material management, pharmacy, patient management, billing, ambulance, and laboratory. Christophorus-Kliniken will also implement iSOFT's clinical applications across all the hospitals. A key factor for Christophorus-Kliniken is iSOFT's next-generation LORENZO strategy and the ability to implement proven applications that provide a migration path towards LORENZO.

The Hanusch hospital group will extend its use of iSOFT's RadCentre radiology information system at its hospital in Vienna, Austria. Radiology departments will become entirely filmless after Hanusch agreed a five-year deal to roll-out RadCentre. RadCentre was first installed in 2000 in radiology and outpatient departments and is now being rolled-out to two external outpatient clinics. It will ensure integrated digital workflows across all inpatient and outpatient clinics.

iSOFT Germany has also granted distribution rights to partners in Russia and Switzerland to increase its foothold in these markets and provide local support.

iSOFT has strengthened its position in Russia's healthcare market after a partnership agreement with ML Park of Moscow to distribute, implement and support LabCentre. LabCentre is already installed at KDL Test, a private laboratory chain with laboratories in Moscow, Omsk, Perm, and Krasnodar. ML Park and KDL Test are sister companies and both subsidiaries of ML Group. ML Park's knowledge of laboratory systems and the private LIS market in Russia will be invaluable in establishing a support organisation in Russia.

The market in Russia offers huge potential and is set to grow at unprecedented rates. The Russian market for medical technology is worth US$2 billion a year and is growing by about 15 per cent per annum. The 'National Health Programme', which was initiated by President Putin in 2007, provides US$1.7 billion to build 15 specialist health centres.

Axon Lab, a leading service provider for diagnostics and molecular biology, has become iSOFT's distribution partner in Switzerland. The agreement covers distribution, implementation and support of iSOFT's laboratory solution LabCentre. LabCentre is a full-graphic integrated system, covering clinical laboratory, canned goods depot, blood donation and microbiology. LabCentre includes integrated communication functions for order processing and reporting and supports the decentralized point-of-care testing. iSOFT is the market leader in laboratory information systems (LIS) in Germany with more than 200 installations.
