Sydney, Jan 22, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - IBA Health Group Limited (ASX: IBA) - Australia's largest listed specialist information technology company, today announced a $330,000 contract with The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) to upgrade hospital information systems at the 130-bed Madinat Zayed Hospital with its latest e-health solutions.
IBA's patient administration system has been in use at the Madinant Zayad since it first opened in 2000 together with the company's pharmacy and laboratory systems. It is now upgrading to IBA's latest eHIS system in a move towards a full electronic health record (EHR) and integration of all administration and clinical systems. The new system will integrate workflows and provide speedier, online access to patient and clinical information to improve patient care.
The Madinat Zayad was due to install Cerner's Millennium product as part of its contract with HAAD in June 2005 for EHR solutions at seven hospitals, but after lengthy delays signed this new deal with IBA. The implementation starts this month and IBA has committed to complete the project by April.

The HAAD was established to deliver high quality medical and healthcare services across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The HAAD manages seven hospitals in four regions. The Madinat Zayad Hospital is one of two hospitals in the Western region.
