TMZ's primary focus is the Thomson Fold Belt, a region of deformed and intruded sediments and volcanics thought to be the under-cover, unexplored northern extension of one of Australia's premier metalliferous mining districts, the Lachlan Fold Belt. The belt has excellent exploration potential for large, high grade metal deposits, particularly Cobar-type (copper, gold, lead, zinc, silver) and Intrusion-Related Gold (gold +/- bismuth, copper, lead, zinc, tungsten). TMZ has a dominant tenement position in this new mineral belt which has had minimal, but very encouraging, exploration so far.

Thomson Resources Limited (ASX:TMZ) is pleased to announce further results of its initial drilling program over the Achilles and Louth projects, near Cobar, NSW. Three prospects at Achilles and Louth have been tested by traverse aircore drilling with anomalous results recorded on each; for two of these prospects this was the first drilling ever undertaken.

Thomson Resources Limited (ASX:TMZ) has entered into a joint venture for its Byrock Project located approximately 100 kilometres north of Cobar, central NSW. Kenilworth Exploration Pty Ltd, a private company owned by unrelated third parties, will fund Thomson's exploration to $300,000 to earn a 50% share in the project.

Thomson Resources Limited (ASX:TMZ) today announced that it is taking steps to relinquish 2,794 square kilometres of its tenement holding in the Thomson Fold Belt to focus the company's activity on the priority Cobar region exploration targets and the aircore drilling program already underway.
