Havilah Resources Ltd (ASX:HAV) is a debt free South Australian gold producer having recently financed and developed its first gold mine at Portia in north-eastern South Australia. It plans to follow on with three copper-gold-cobalt mining developments at North Portia, Kalkaroo and Mutooroo, which are underpinned by a JORC resources mineral inventory of over 1.4 million tonnes of copper, 3.6 million ounces of gold, and 18,000 tonnes of cobalt.

News
Havilah Resources NL (ASX:HAV) advises that as part of ongoing pre feasibility study activities, its geologists have generated a detailed geological model of the Mutooroo deposit.
Havilah Resources NL (ASX:HAV), has previously announced two new iron ore discoveries at its 100% owned Lilydale and Maldorky iron ore projects. These discoveries form part of an emerging iron ore province in the northeast of South Australia, that is associated with the folded and deformed Braemar Iron Formation of Precambrian age.
Havilah Resources NL (ASX:HAV) recent drilling of a high intensity aeromagnetic anomaly at its 100% owned Maldorky iron ore project indicates a significant new iron ore discovery. A line of drillholes have defined over 50m thickness of shallow south dipping iron rich siltstones, with generally better than average iron grades for the Braemar Iron Formation. The drill cuttings are exceptionally magnetite rich, and Davis Tube test work is underway to determine the quality of the upgraded magnetite concentrate from drill samlples.
Havilah Resources NL (ASX:HAV) has previously published encouraging metallurgical results for its 100% owned Lilydale iron ore project southeast of Yunta, that show the primary low grade iron ore can be beneficiated into a high iron, low impurity magnetite product. Similar results have now been reported by several junior companies, exploring in joint venture on various Braemar Iron Formation iron ore projects in northeastern South Australia. This is indicating an emerging potentially important new iron ore province that has appreciable resource potential in addition to favourable metallurgical characteristics for upgrading to a premium product, and proximity to rail and port facilities.
Havilah Resources NL (ASX:HAV) releases Quarterly Activities Report for the period ending April 2010.
Excellent results have previously been reported for preliminary Davis Tube testwork on composite drill chip samples from Havilah Resources'(ASX:HAV) RC percussion drillholes at the Lilydale iron ore project for grind sizes of 38 and 75 microns (see ASX announcement 27 April 2010). Davis Tube analysis is designed to determine the percentage recovery of the magnetic minerals (in this case magnetite - Fe3O4) from the bulk sample. Chemical analysis of the resultant magnetic fraction gives the Fe content of the concentrate as well as the levels of impurity elements.
Havilah Resources (ASX:HAV) announce, composite drill chip samples from three recently completed shallow reconnaissance RC percussion drillholes at the Lilydale iron ore project were submitted for Davis Tube testwork at ALS Chemex laboratory in Perth. The Davis Tube analysis is designed to determine the % recovery of the magnetic minerals (in this case magnetite - Fe3O4) from the bulk sample. Chemical analysis of the resultant magnetic fraction gives the Fe content of the concentrate as well as the levels of impurity elements.

Havilah Resources NL (ASX:HAV) advises that it has finalised the Kalkaroo feasibility study funded by Glencore International (Glencore) for a high tonnage throughput open pit operation. This is based on a previously published resource block model containing an in situ resource inventory of 62.5 Mt @ 0.52 % Cu and 0.48 g/t Au (ASX release 7 May 2009). The feasibility study involved a rigorous study of all aspects of the Kalkaroo deposit including geological resource estimation, metallurgical recovery and processing flow sheet design, open pit mine design, capital and operating cost estimation and financial analysis.
