Rum Jungle Resources Limited (ASX:RUM) Announce Ammaroo Phosphate Exploration Update
Perth, May 19, 2011 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Rum Jungle Resources Limited (
ASX:RUM) has received assays for the next 93 drill holes drilled within the centre of the Resource Grid, progressing from Line 9 southward to Line 14.
Assays that exceed an interval of greater than 15% P2O5 over two meters in thickness are listed in Table 1 (see link at the bottom of the release) and confirm 52 of the 93 holes drilled have higher grade phosphate. The other holes contain lower grade phosphate. The results to date show a continuous blanket of shallow phosphate mineralization containing areas of high-grade material. It is expected all assays will be received by end of May.
Mine Management Plans have been lodged with the Department of Resources to continue the drilling on an enlarged grid plan with the ultimate Resource Grid probably being extended to an area of 5km by 5km (25 square kilometers). In addition to extensional drilling at Barrow Creek 1, resource drilling will be conducted at the significant deposit previously drilled at the Ammaroo 1 phosphate prospect on EL25185 to the east, to define a JORC compliant inferred resource. Regional exploration drilling will also commence between June and August.
On Tuesday 17/5/2011, a meeting was held on site to explain to Traditional Owners what exploration activities had been conducted to date and plans for additional resource drilling. This seemed to be warmly received by over 150 people attending the briefing. The meeting was organized by the Central Land Council and whilst the tenements are situated on a pastoral lease, we do believe it important to work with Traditional Owners for the protection of sacred sites and Aboriginal heritage in Central Australia. We also have a registered Exploration Agreement with the Central Land Council.
