Perth, June 3, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Meteoric Resources NL (ASX:MEI) is pleased to announce that an exploration and land access agreement has been signed with elders of the Kiwirrkura Community for terms of access to the Ngaanyatjarra aboriginal reserve, paving the way for grant of exploration licence E80/4234 over the Webb gold target (MEI ASX release 26 March 2009).
A heritage clearance survey is planned for mid-June and following the necessary permitting it is anticipated that field work will commence in August. A programme of ground magnetic surveying, geochemical sampling and scout drilling is planned, to carry out a first-pass test of the 80sq km gold anomaly outlined in regional sampling by the Geological Survey of WA (GSWA). This outstanding gold target, is totally unexplored and is considered to have excellent potential for gold discovery.
In addition, Meteoric has applied for a 75sq km exploration licence to cover structural and geophysical targets and the possible eastern extensions of the anomalous geochemical trends on the 420sq km tenement covering the main Webb gold anomaly.
Work by the GSWA has confirmed the prospectivity of the West Arunta region for copper and gold mineralisation, including Iron Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) styles. Meteoric Resources is most encouraged by the progress being made in gaining access to this hitherto inaccessible region and by the prospectivity of the Webb project.
