Brisbane, Nov 21, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Press reporting that Linc Energy has decided to 'pull out of Queensland' is factually incorrect and has seemingly ignored statements in Linc Energy's announcement on Wednesday November 19.

In that statement, Linc Energy reiterated the importance of its world class UCG/GTL demonstration facilities at Chinchilla and its intention to continue to operate and expand these facilities. Linc will also continue to focus on creating further value from its other Queensland coal assets with a strong belief that a commercial UCG/GTL facility will be developed in the state at some point in the future.

Mr Peter Bond, Linc Energy Chief Executive Officer commented that 'it is important for our over 100 Queensland employees, our host community at Chinchilla and other stakeholders that our clear commitment to our assets and operations in Queensland is not in question.'

In the same media report, comments attributed to a spokesperson for Mines and Energy Minister Geoff Wilson, suggested that the Minister had not recently been updated about Linc Energy's plans. Linc Energy wishes to correct any misconception created by this statement that it has not regularly briefed Government on its activities. Linc Energy has had many contacts with Government over past months including a number of meetings with the Minister himself. Linc has also met twice with the Minister's Department in the past ten days to discuss its proposed project in Chinchilla and related tenure matters with resulting correspondence exchanged in the past 72 hours.

Mr Bond stressed that "simply put, Linc Energy has made a huge effort to communicate with the Queensland Government, Minster Wilson and indeed his entire department about our plans and concerns."
