Delhaize Group (EBR:DELB) BRUSSELS, Belgium, October 28, 2008 - Pursuant to the Belgian Law of May 2, 2007 relating to the publication of major shareholdings, Delhaize Group (Euronext Brussels: DELB - NYSE: DEG), the Belgian international food retailer, has received the following notification from one of its shareholders.

On October 24, 2008, Sofina SA notified Delhaize Group that as of September 1, 2008 it still owned 4,050,000 Delhaize Group shares, representing 4.04% of its voting rights, through its subsidiary Rebelco SA.
