Sydney, June 5, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - The Board of Tamaya Resources (ASX:TMR)(PINK:TMAYF) is pleased to advise shareholders of the results of its recently completed Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program totalling 16 holes for a total of 4,827 metres at Dalmacia - Arco Iris, Chile.
The objective of the drilling campaign was to test the strike extension of the known copper mineralisation at Dalmacia by drilling on strike at 100 metre centres into the contiguous Arco Iris exploration lease.

The results of the drilling campaign indicate that the mineralised structures which form finger-like ore shoots at Dalmacia extend on strike and cover an area of 1.2 kilometers along strike with an approximate width of 400 metres. These irregular, sub-vertical mineralised shoots tend to trend N30W. The finger like structures are 25 to 30 meters in length, up to 15 meters in width, with the structures currently not closed off at depth.

The strike extension of the Dalmacia mineralisation was initially suggested by a program of ground geophysics, which led to a costeaning program, the results of which were used to develop the RC drilling program.

Whilst the drilling program has not led to the definition of an Inferred Resource, further diamond drilling and RC drilling is planned to prove further the continuity of the mineralisation, with the following planned:

- Diamond drilling at depth along the identified strike length of the mineralisation to prove the depth extension of both the Dalmacia mineralisation which is currently not closed off, and further prove the extension at depth into the Arco Iris Exploration Lease

- In-fill drilling along the identified strike length to further prove up the geological model as well as develop an initial Inferred Resource

- Metallurgical and geotechnical drilling to confirm the recoveries as seen at Dalmacia, with recovery of up to 92 per cent through the current Punitaqui plant, as well as drilling to confirm the open pit geotechnical design parameters.

The extension of the Dalmacia mineralisation into and through Arco Iris is significant as it provides the Dalmacia and Arco Iris exploration project with a potential upside that if proven, could provide an additional long term ore source to the Punitaqui plant some 6 kilometres from the project. The dimensions of the known mineralisation suggest the potential for a significant ore system, which will be further tested through drilling and other studies.
