QMASTOR ASX:QML (MINING SOFTWARE). QMASTOR is a technology company specialized in providing software solutions to the global mining, power generation, and bulk commodities industries. The company produces a number of software solutions including Pit to Port, Pit to Plant and Port Plant. The company has secured a number of significant deals recently including contracts with; Solid Energy New Zealand Ltd, Anglo Coal and a major Australian iron ore producer. QMastor produced a first half EBIT profit of $0.6 m AUD and its forward order position is now at a record level.
MOBILEACTIVE ASX:MBA (MEDIA). Mobileactive produces and distributes mobile phone content to Australian and international markets. The company has an extensive of library of content from different genres including music, games, video, information and graphics applications. Mobile Active's content is distributed to consumers through mobile telephones using Mobileactive's own propriety technology, which can be used in different markets and is easily scalable.
HANSEN TECHNOLOGIES ASX:HSN (IT). Hansen Technologies is a world leader in billing systems software for the utilities and telecommunications industries. The company also provides outsourcing and facilities management solutions to a wide range of market segments. The company posted a strong first half FY08 result with EBITDA from operations rising 117% from the previous corresponding period. Hansen Technologies has recently announced its intention to provide a return of capital of $0.02 per share to its shareholders.
COMTEL (TELECOMMUNICATIONS) ComTel Corporation Limited is an Australian owned mobile phone company that offers pre- and post-paid phone services via its network of MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), including Just Mobile, Reward Mobile, and Amichi. Its recent acquisition of Empowered Communications positions CMO as one of Australia's fastest growing telecommunications providers in the opt-in mobile advertising space. Comtel's management is expecting its operations to generate a forecasted EBITDA of $8 million for the 2008 financial year.
COLORPAK ASX:CKL (PACKAGING). Colorpak is a manufacturer of specialist packaging specializing in premium packaging sectors such as pharmaceutical, healthcare, cosmetics and consumer brands. The company maintains its competitive advantage by investing heavily in its manufacturing technology and maintains state of the art equipment across its plants. Colorpak's management is expecting a FY08 NPAT of between $6.0 and $6.4m implying a prospective PER of around 6.7X (based on $0.50 share price for Colorpak).
ALLOMAK ASX:AMA (AUTOMOTIVE). Allomak begun its corporate history focusing on the wholesale automotive aftermarket but through a series of acquisitions the company has expanded into ancillary automotive services such as smash repairs and petrol/LP Gas hybrid conversions. Whilst each of Allomak;s business operate under their respective brand name the company does instigate Co-operative sales initiatives and where possible undertakes joint buying and support activities. Allomak achieved a half year EBIT result of $2.6m on the back of $33.8m in revenues.
AUSMELT ASX:AET (MINING SERVICES). Ausmelt's propriety Top Submerged Lance (TSL) technology is a high intensity bath smelting technique that is applied to a wide range of non-ferrous, ferrous and precious metals resources. Ausmelt recently launched Ausmelt Minmet Metallurgical Laboratories, a business which provides metallurgical test services for the mining industry.
CLOVER CORPORATION ASX:CLV (FOOD SCIENCE). Clover Corporation is a life science company which develops innovative function food ingredients used to improve the nutritional qualities of a range of foods including infant nutrition and dietary supplements. Clover Corporation's wholly owned subsidiary, Nu-Mega Ingredients is a world class supplier of Omega-3 DHA sourced from tuna oil.
