Perth, Mar 4, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Kangaroo Metals Limited (ASX: KML), a diversified exploration and mining company with projects in North Queensland and Tasmania, would like to report results on the testing of samples collected at the Ewan Project, south of Greenvale, Queensland.

The Ewan Project was initially targeted for alluvial tin; however, during field surveys, historical and unmarked mines with limited or no recorded production were identified as being rich in copper. Samples collected from stockpiles were analyzed at ALS and were shown to have significant copper, lead and silver values.

Six rock samples collected from the stockpile of an unnamed shaft (pictured below) showed copper (Cu) values averaging 4.0%, lead (Pb) values averaging 19.3%, zinc (Zn) values averaging 2.1% and silver (Ag) values averaging 272 g/t. Sample EWC004 tested as 5.73% Cu, 34.8% Pb, 3.73% Zn and 351g/t Ag, with EWC006 having an even higher silver grade at 415g/t Ag.

Further field surveys of the other historic mine sites scattered along a 5km zone fringing the neighboring granites will be carried out and samples collected and analyzed to determine the extent of the mineralization and assess grades at each site.

"KML is very excited about the identification of hardrock assets at Ewan which would extend our program beyond that of the alluvial tin already identified not 500m away", stated Dr Brett Teale, Managing Director of Kangaroo Metals. "Previous workings show mineralization less than 4m from surface, and if this can be extended to depth, it would represent a significant asset to the Company."
