Stirling Products Limited Stock Market Press Releases and Company Profile

Perth, Jan 30, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Stirling Products (ASX: STI) advises that it has received written notification of registration approval under the new Feeds Act classification for Yeast Cell Wall Beta Glucan products by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The two products, ProVale Yeast Cell Wall for Livestock Feeds and ProVale Yeast Cell Wall Premix for Livestock Feeds are now recognized as containing an independently validated and minimum quantity of activated beta glucan from purified yeast cell wall material under the recently amended guidelines implemented by the CFIA.

While both ProVale and the less concentrated Premix version (manufactured to assist in incorporating the product in operations that cannot use the concentrated form) are already on the market in Canada and in the United States, the registration approval allows for their continued sales under the new regulations into 2010 by which time a production claim will also be registered.

President of Stirling Products North America, Mr Shane Patelakis, indicated "The approval was important to our plans for growing the North American market as it validates the presence of active beta glucans as recognized by the CFIA. We can now progress further with the registration and submit some of the excellent data that has been collected on the use of ProVale to upgrade the registration. The ability to include future label claims relating to the ability of ProVale to significantly enhance the various aspects of production and management of performance of livestock and companion animals will be a considerable advantage in terms of brand recognition."

The announcement follows advice last week (ASX 24 January) that Stirling had also made progress in moving towards regulatory approval for its other lead compound R-salbutamol. Both opportunities are important contributors towards the company's target sales of US$1million by the end of 2008.

"Registration in Canada is important recognition for other registration approvals that the company will be seeking in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asian countries," indicated CEO and Managing Director of Stirling Products, Dr Calvin London. "It is good to see that we are now moving ahead on several different fronts and shareholders should be pleased with the progress so far this year," he added.
