Adelaide, Feb 3, 2007 AEST (ABN Newswire) - New drilling has extended by at least 800 metres the copper-silver mineralisation at Discovery Metals Limited's (ASX: DML)(BSE: DML) Maun project in northern Botswana.

The extension was identified from the results received to date of the first three of fourteen holes drilled to the southwest of the project's Zeta prospect.

The new results are in addition to Discovery Metal's recent infill drill results at Zeta which produced significantly higher copper grades than the prospect's current known resource (currently an Inferred resource of 20Mt @ 1.2% Cu, cut-off grade 0.6% Cu).

Highlights

Copper-silver mineralisation extended 800m to the southwest of the current southern limit of the Zeta Inferred Copper Resource at mineable widths and grades

Hole GD060-06 intersected 5m @ 1.6% Cu from 150m
Hole GD059-06 intersected 5m @ 2.2% Cu and 37 g/t Ag within an intersection of 8m @ 1.2% Cu and 24 g/t Ag from 95m
Drill hole GD057-06 intersected 5m @ 1.5% Cu and 22 g/t Ag within an intersection of 9.2m @1.1% Cu and 17 g/t Ag from 69m Latest Zeta Extension Results Highly Positive

Discovery Metal's Managing Director, Mr Jeremy Read, said today that the drill results were especially significant "as they show that open pittable copper-silver mineralisation extends at least 800m past the current southern limit of the Zeta Inferred Copper Resource".

"The results from these first three Zeta extension drill holes greatly increase our confidence in being able to deliver a significant increase to the size of the Zeta Inferred Copper Resource," Mr Read said.

"We have drilled fourteen extension holes in total over a strike length of 2.8km immediately southwest of the Zeta resource and being able to extend the Zeta mineralisation by 800m in the first three holes for which we have received results, is highly positive," he said.

"The results from the Zeta infill drilling we announced recently have all produced significantly higher copper grades than the currently defined average grade of the Zeta resource and now we are significantly extending this zone of mineralisation."
