Sydney, June 27, 2005 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Australia Worldwide: Special China Edition, a new book designed to highlight the growing relationship between these two nations, was launched in Canberra on 6/6/2005.

In a quarter of a century, the Australia-China relationship has become one of Australia's key international partnerships. China is Australia's second most important export market and its fastest-growing source of international tourists and students. In turn, China looks to Australia as a strategic and reliable source of vital minerals and raw materials for its rapidly growing economy. The newly launched book profiles the many strategic opportunities that exist for Australia and China to work together to shape the future of both countries.

Madame Fu Ying, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Australia, officially launched the book at Parliament House.

Madame Fu remarked in her speech that she hoped the book would help to further strengthen the relationship between Australia and China, and suggested that it would be a valuable tool for Chinese people wishing to gain an insight into the Australian way of life.

With the endorsement of Project Patron John Howard and Project Ambassador Tim Fischer and guided by an Advisory Group of prominent Chinese and Australian business people, led by Dr. John Yu, this major publishing initiative will showcase Australian innovation and expertise to China's business and government leaders.

Mr John C. Yang, the translator of the book for All Language P/L, said that, as an Australian citizen from China, he felt joy and privilege of having this opportunity to work for the countries he loved best, and that he looked forward to participate in the publishment of more such good books, eg "China Worldwide: Australian Edition".

The book will be made available to members of the Chinese government and leading businesses, via the Austrade network.
