Heijmans NV (AMS:HEIJM) Heijmans And Unions Reach Agreement In Principle

Heijmans NV (AMS:HEIJM) 's-Hertogenbosch - After close consultations with the Central Works Council, Heijmans has reached agreement in principle with the trade unions concerning a social plan for employees who are being considered for transfer or who are subject to forced layoff. The social plan provides Heijmans with a set of regulations governing personnel that is eligible for transfer or declared redundant. The key focus of the plan is to support employees in making a transition 'from work to work'.

Heijmans wants to minimise the number of forced layoffs. The company intends to achieve this by terminating temporary contracts, and through transfers and regular turnover. 200 positions will be eliminated in the staff services area and 450 positions in the operational areas. The affected trade unions FNV, CNV, Het Zwarte Corps and RMU Werknemers will submit the proposal for consultation to their membership in the coming weeks.
