The Company's principal activities are the exploration, production, transportation, refining and marketing of petroleum and petroleum-derived products. The Company operates through the following divisions: refining, marketing, trading and supply of oil, shipping and maritime technology and natural gas business development; exploration, development and production of oil and gas and marketing and supply of natural gas. Refining and marketing accounted for 70% of 2001 revenues; exploration and production, 22% and natural gas, 8%.
