The directors of Prairie Downs Metals Limited (ASX:PDZ) ("Prairie" or "the Company") are pleased to provide an update on the current exploration activities being undertaken at the Prairie Downs Base Metal Project ("Project").

Prairie Downs Metals Limited (ASX:PDZ) commenced the first drill program at the Costean Seven copper/lead prospect at the end of June 2008. Until the cessation of diamond drilling last week, a total of five holes were drilled. Three out of the five holes did not reach the target depths due to drilling problems and a total of only 821 metres was drilled. All the holes are mineralised.

The Prairie Downs (ASX:PDZ) Base Metal Project is located approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Newman in the Eastern Pilbara region of Western Australia. At the current time the project hosts a total Global Resource of 4.7 million tonnes at a grade of 6.3% zinc, 18g/t silver and 1.8% lead at a nominal lower cut off grade of 1% zinc.

Prairie Downs Metals (ASX:PDZ) announce the first drill hole at the Costean Seven copper prospect was abandoned due to loss of water return at a depth of 311 metres. Diamond drill hole PDD308 has intersected continuous copper and silver mineralisation from 9 metres to 285 metres, the interval from 0.6-9 metres is mineralised in copper, zinc and silver and the interval from 285 metres to 311 metres is mineralised in silver.

Detailed mapping and sampling has been continuing at Prairie Downs Metal's (ASX: PDZ) namesake project. Results indicate that copper mineralisation is continuous in a similar geological setting from Costean Seven to the Main Lode zinc resource. This is a total strike length of 3.7 kilometres of copper mineralisation which commences at surface and remains open to both the northwest and southeast.
