Beach Petroleum Limited (ASX:BPT)(PINK:BEPTF) has increased its exposure to the expected higher oil prices in global spot price markets, by yesterday closing out a significant portion of its oil hedge book for the next six months, as it moves closer to finalizing its $110 million acquisition of the North Shadwan area in the Gulf of Suez.

Beach Petroleum Limited (ASX:BPT)(PINK:BEPTF) today announced record oil production from its Cooper-Eromanga Basins assets for the 2007-08 financial year and expects its assets in Australia's flagship onshore oil province to deliver even higher output in 2008-09.

On 30 May 2008, Beach Petroleum Limited (ASX:BPT)(PINK:BEPTF) announced that it had entered into an agreement with Tri-Ocean Energy Company under which Beach will acquire a 20% interest in the North Shadwan Concession, located in the Gulf of Suez at a cost of US$110 million.
