Beter Bed Holding NV (AMS:BBED) Beter Bed Holding N.V. realised net revenue of € 359 million for the full year 2008. This represents a 2% increase in comparison to the revenue achieved in 2007 (€ 351 million). Revenue totalling € 93 million was achieved in the fourth quarter of 2008, which is approximately the same amount as in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Growth in revenue per country for the full year 2008 in comparison to 2007 is as follows:

In comparable stores revenue decreased by 6% for the full year. For the fourth quarter of 2008 revenue in comparable stores fell by 8%. Low consumer confidence and winter weather conditions in the last weeks of December, which is an important trading period, contributed to the weakening revenue performance.

A total of 125 stores were opened and 49 stores were closed in 2008. The number of stores has consequently increased from 960 to 1,036.

Net profit for 2008 is expected to amount to approximately € 22 million (2007: € 27.6 million including a € 1.0 million tax credit).

Its activities include retail trade through more than 1,000 stores that operate via the chains Beter Bed (active in the Netherlands), Matratzen Concord (active in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Poland), El Gigante del Colchón (active in Spain), BeddenReus, Dormaël and Slaapgenoten (all three active in the Netherlands) and MAV (active in Germany). Beter Bed Holding is also active in the field of developing and wholesaling branded products in the bedroom furnishings sector in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and in Spain via its subsidiary DBC International. Beter Bed Holding achieved net revenue of € 359 million in 2008. The company has been listed on Euronext Amsterdam since December 1996.
