Enea AB (STO:ENEA) New IPsec and SSH protocols add integrity verification, authentication, and encryption to Enea's DSPNet IPv4v6 stack
Stockholm, Sweden. November 24, 2008 - Enea® (Nordic Exchange/Small Cap/ENEA), a world leading provider of network software and services, today announced the availability of IPsec and SSH network security protocols for DSPNet, a compact, high-performance IPv4v6 stack optimized for the Enea OSE® ck real-time operating system. The new protocols provide integrity verification, authentication, and encryption services that facilitate secure data transmission.
"The drive to reduce IP transport costs has made Ethernet the standard interface for all DSPs used in communications infrastructure," said Terry Pearson, vice president of marketing for Enea. "DSPNet provides a secure, reliable, high-performance IP transport solution that enables DSPs to perform network processing as well as real-time signal processing. Together, OSE ck and DSPNet provide an out-of-the-box platform that enables NEPs to get to market faster with compact, high-performance, DSP-based communications equipment that offers superior reliability, security, and flexibility at a reduced cost."
IPsec provides confidentiality, data integrity and authentication for packets sent over the Internet. IPsec encrypts the IP data packets to hide its contents from unauthorized viewing. It also authenticates the sender and checks the received data for integrity. The SSH daemon (Secure Shell) provides a secure alternative to Telnet for accessing the OSE ck shell, which is used to execute commands on the DSP for management, configuration, status, and debug purposes.
About Enea OSE ck and DSPNet Enea OSE ck (OSE Compact Kernel) is a DSP-optimized version of Enea's full-featured OSE RTOS. Occupying as little as 8 kbytes of memory, OSE ck delivers fully-preemptive, event-driven real-time response and features built-in error detection and handling. This combination makes OSE ck ideal for telecom, datacom, automotive, industrial control, medical and mil/aero applications with tight memory constraints that require reliable real-time control and signal processing.
DSPNet is a compact, reliable, secure, high-performance IPv4v6 stack for Enea's OSE ck RTOS. Optimized for DSP applications, OSE ck and DSPNet provide a COTS software platform that helps NEPs lower network processing costs and speed time to market while taking full advantage of the DSP's real-time processing capabilities. OSE ck and DSPNet are available for a broad range of popular communication infrastructure DSPs, including the LSI 2603/12, Freescale MSC8144 and TI C6000 C64x+ DSPs.
