New Chief Legal Counsel In Yara International ASA

Oslo, Norway, May 9, 2008 - (ABN Newswire) - Oslo (2008-05-09): Trygve Faksvaag, currently MD of Yara Switzerland has been appointed Chief Legal Counsel in Yara replacing Ken Wallace who has decided to return to the US and retire as of 1 July 2008. Trygve Faksvaag will report to the CEO of Yara, Thorleif Enger.

Coming from the law firm Wikborg, Rein & Co. in Oslo, Trygve Faksvaag joined the legal department of Norsk Hydro in 1996. He was later legal counsel and vice president of Norsk Hydro Americas, Inc., the Hydro corporate center for North and South America, from 2001 to 2003. In 2004 he was appointed vice president and general counsel of Yara North America, Inc. After having returned to the Yara legal department in Oslo, from 2006 he served as managing director of Yara Switzerland Ltd. in Geneva, Switzerland, where Yara's Ammonia Trade & Shipping unit is located. Mr. Faksvaag holds a law degree from Oslo University.
