Amsterdam, Netherlands, Nov 29, 2007 - (Hugin via ABN Newswire) - Distinguished Independent Panel Selects Getronics for Best Practices in Managed Services

Getronics, an international leader in information and communications technology (ICT) services and solutions, was named a platinum award recipient of the Best Practices for Managed Services global awards at the recent Nimsoft user conference nFluence in San Jose.

The Best Practices Program created by Nimsoft, the "Big 4" alternative provider of IT performance and availability monitoring solutions, recognises organisations that demonstrably excel in implementing best practices in IT managed services to meet strategic business objectives. While the aim of the awards is to recognise excellence, the objective is to encourage practitioners to improve service levels through assessment and educate the market at large on the attributes and components of managed service excellence.

"An award by an independent panel close to our industry validates Getronics' global service delivery model," said Dick Boynton, VP, Global Remote Infrastructure Services. "Getronics' ability to innovate and consistently offer ICT services on a global scale, takes a great deal of planning, investment, and commitment on behalf of our 24,000 employees. It is an honour for all of us at Getronics to be recognised by Nimsoft."

Getronics was awarded for its vision to help organisations raise their performance and increase the productivity of its people to work efficiently and securely, whenever or wherever they need. This vision is demonstrated in the company's Future-Ready Workspace blueprint and solution as well as innovative projects with clients like Ford, where Getronics installed, deployed and continues to manage a unified communications solution that will maximize Ford employees' productivity and effectiveness (as announced in a press release dated 10 April 2007).

The award submissions examined each provider's managed services capabilities including their vision, segmentation, marketing, SLA management, client portals, custom toolsets, interaction with global standards, competitive discriminators, service flexibility, client satisfaction, and client landscape. Judges included: Lisa Ericsson-Harris, Research Director, Enterprise Management Associates; Peter O'Neill, Principal Analyst, Forrester Research; Charles Weaver, President & Co-Founder, MSPAlliance; and Mike Vizard, Editorial Director, Ziff Davis Media Enterprise Technology Group.

"To date, clients' infrastructures have been driven by standardisation. In the future, as our culture evolves and personalisation in the workplace becomes ever present, new models must emerge", said Jean-Paul Adans, executive vice president of portfolio and alliances at Getronics. "Our Future-Ready Workspace blueprint and solution sets the bar for optimised services delivery and is designed to help our clients develop a dynamic infrastructure to embrace these changes."
