Sydney, Oct 17, 2011 (ABN Newswire) - International Coal Limited (ASX:ICX) has expanded the drilling programme at its wholly owned South Blackall Project in Queensland. The expanded programme will now include much of the work that was originally planned for the first half of 2012, drilling up to 20 holes covering an area of 400 km2. Subject to the results of drilling, the Company expects to announce a maiden JORC resource in the future.

Avanco Resources Limited (ASX:AVB) reports excellent results from the Rio Verde Copper Project in Brazil. Deep drilling continues to intersect substantial widths of ore grade mineralisation, reporting significant gold values in some of the drillholes. Over 50 metres of coal thickness were intersected in 2 of the holes. The drill program is expected to produce an Inferred Resource for the Project, which contains an Exploration Target of 1-2 billion tonnes of brown coal.
