Adelaide, May 13, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Beach Petroleum Limited's (ASX:BPT)(PINK:BEPTF) drilling report and well location map for the week ending 13 May, 2009 are Below. Other activities of note are:
- Beach Petroleum Operated Oil Exploration - Cooper / Eromanga Basin
Tumby-1, the first of up to 6 wells to be drilled in PEL 92 on the western flank of the Cooper Basin and is due to spud on or about 25 May 2009 using Ensign Rig 30. The well is targeting oil in the Namur Sandstone with potential mean recoverable reserves of 2.4 million barrels. (Beach interest 75%)
Following the program in PEL 92, two exploration wells will be drilled in PEL 91 (Beach 40%), subject to joint venture approval. These wells will also target oil in the Namur sandstone.
- Beach Petroleum Operated Geothermal Exploration - Arrowie Basin
Paralana-2, a geothermal well in the Arrowie Basin is expected to commence drilling in late June. The Weatherford Lightening Rig which will be used to drill the well to a depth of 4000 metres arrived in Port Pirie this week and is being unloaded prior to transportation to the well location. (Beach is earning up to 36% by contributing to the cost of the Paralana project of which drilling this well is a part).
